Parent-Teacher Conferences

Visit http://schools.nyc.gov/ptc and get ready for this month's parent-teacher conferences! These meetings help you understand what your child is learning at school, their academic and social-emotional progress, and what you can do to support them.

A parent-teacher conference (PTC) is a short meeting between you and your child's teacher to talk about your child's academic performance and experience at school. These meetings help you understand what your child is learning at school, their academic and social-emotional progress, and what you can do to support them. If your child is having particular difficulties, parent-teacher conferences also give you and the teacher time to plan how you can both help them best.

All parent-teacher conferences will be conducted remotely for the 2022-23 school year. Meetings with parents/caregivers may, upon request, occur in-person on a mutually agreeable date and time.

Conference Times and Scheduling

On the dates of afternoon parent-teacher conferences, students are dismissed three hours prior to the regular dismissal time. Evening parent-teacher conferences will be held between 4:30 PM and 8:00 PM. If you have scheduling conflicts with the suggested meeting appointment time, you should work with your child's teacher to schedule a mutually agreeable time. For more information about when parent-teacher conferences will be held this year, please visit the 2022-23 School Year Calendar page.
