- Last day to apply to middle and high school (Dec. 1)
- #CSEdWeek (Dec. 5-11)
- Winter Recess (Dec. 26-Jan. 2)
Yes, it’s true—December 2022 is here—and for many New Yorkers, the start of the twelfth month of the calendar year marks the beginning of the winter holiday season. Throughout the City, households, organizations, and businesses alike are using the start of the month to prepare for the upcoming holidays, and we know many of you are also doing the same and are setting aside time to spend with your loved ones.
For City public school families, Winter Recess (December 26, 2022–January 2, 2023) is the main event of note on our calendars this month. Beyond that, this year’s application deadline for middle and high schools is coming up at the start of the month, Computer Science Education Week kicks off soon after, and families with students who registered for the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) by the November 4 deadline may have testing dates to factor into their schedules this month.
